Stop Repossession and Reduce the Amount Owed on Your Car Loan and Interest Rate

If you purchased your vehicle at least 910 days prior to filing the bankruptcy case you can pay what the vehicle is worth and not what you owe on the loan. Most vehicle loans become upside down quickly after purchase depending upon how much you put down at the time of purchase. If you owe $15,000 and the vehicle is only worth $8,000, you will only pay $8,000 in a chapter 13 bankruptcy and own the vehicle upon completion. This is a significant savings and will make the vehicle much more affordable. If you are having trouble making the monthly payment this will lower the monthly payment and allow you to keep the car.

Stop Repossession and Get Your Car Back

Even if your car is already gone you must be provided notice that the vehicle is going to be sold at auction. If you file bankruptcy it will stop the auction of your car and the car should be returned to you. You must act fast and there could be additional fees to recover the vehicles.

One of the worst feelings is walking out of your home or the supermarket and walking to where you parked your car and it is not there. This does not have to be you. Filing bankruptcy will make sure your vehicle is not repossessed and even allow you to catch up on the missed payments. Filing a chapter 13 bankruptcy could even reduce the amount you owe on your loan and interest rate.
